Windhoek residents were informed of a street procession by the City of Windhoek Fire Brigade starting this morning in honor of the late firefighter Methusalah Simataa Khama, who tragically passed away while on duty on July 7. Fuel Shortages in Mali Halt Aircraft Refueling

Mali's capital, Bamako, is currently unable to refuel commercial aircraft due to fuel shortages, and airlines are being asked to refuel elsewhere until next week. Reuters has it that the transport ministry announced that increased flight operations have depleted fuel stocks. Ministry spokesman Ould Mamouni advised airlines to consider obtaining fuel supplies in neighboring countries before flying to Mali.

Reuters reports on Mali's ruling military junta and Russia's state nuclear company Rosatom who signed three cooperation deals, including discussions on a Russian-designed low-power nuclear power plant. US lawmakers to vote on bill banning non-citizens casting ballot
