Police in Kenya opened fire on demonstrators attempting to storm the legislature, resulting in at least five deaths and dozens of injuries. Reuters says protesters, reacting to legislation that raises taxes, overwhelmed the police and set parts of the parliament building on fire. Citizen TV reported that some protesters managed to enter the Senate chamber earlier in the day.

UN threatens to halt aid deliveries in Gaza

The United Nations to protect humanitarian workers in Gaza. Speaking at the UN Security Council on Tuesday, Tor Wennesland, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process said indiscriminate attacks on convoys are impeding the delivery of aid. It's now emerged that senior U.N. officials told Israel they will suspend aid operations unless urgent steps are taken to better protect humanitarian workers. As our Jody Jacobs reports.
