South Africa has recorded a decline in the number of liquidated businesses. According to Statistics SA data, liquidations decreased by 5.5-percent in June. This is a decline of seven liquidations from a total of 128 liquidations compared to the same period last year. Three Protesters Killed in Nigeria Amid Nationwide Demonstrations

At least three protesters were killed in Nigeria's Kaduna state on Thursday, according to Reuters reporters and eyewitnesses. Demonstrators rallied across the nation against the rising cost of living and governance issues. Kaduna state police spokesperson Mansur Hassan stated that the police used tear gas, not live ammunition. In the capital city, Abuja, police also fired tear gas to disperse crowds of protesters.
