The City of Cape Town’s electricity teams attended to almost 19-thousand primarily storm-related faults in the past two weeks. Ongoing winter storms have wreaked havoc across the city, resulting in damages in excess of 16.6-million-rand to date on power infrastructure alone. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says the city’s Area South, which includes Mitchells Plain, Muizenberg, Wynberg and Gugulethu, recorded the highest incidents of damaged infrastructure:

Majority of US voters back Biden’s decision to exit presidential race

  Almost all US voters believe President Joe Biden made the right decision by dropping out of this year's presidential election, according to a new poll. A New York Times/Siena College survey found 87 percent of registered voters approved of him withdrawing from the race last Sunday. Sally Patterson reports from New York.
