Suspected Serial Killer Arrested in Kenya After Confessing to 42 Murders

A suspected serial killer, Collins Jumaisi, was arrested in Kenya after the discovery of several bodies at a quarry in Nairobi according to Reuters reports. The 33-year-old, who lived near the quarry in the Mukuru neighborhood, confessed to killing 42 women, including his wife. Acting head of police, Douglas Kanja Kirocho, reported that nine bodies have been recovered from the quarry so far.

Business and Intellectual Property Authority Temporarily Waives Penalties for Beneficial Ownership Non-Compliance

The Business and Intellectual Property Authority is temporarily waiving penalties and sanctions for businesses not yet compliant with its Beneficial Ownership regulations until 31 August. During this period, BIPA will review its sanctions and penalty enforcement mechanisms. Businesses with existing penalty payment plans should halt payments until further instructions are provided. BIPA will announce the way forward by 31 August.

S.A’s Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber Reports 30% Reduction in Visa Backlog

In S.A, Minister of Home Affairs Leon Schreiber says his department's dedicated team has already reduced the visa backlog by processing 92-thousand-886 applications out of a total of 306-thousand. This is a reduction of 30-percent. Schreiber tabled the department's budget in Parliament. He says a further urgent priority in improving the dignity of interactions with Home Affairs is to stabilise the online system:

India’s right wing leaders condemn Trump attack

Leaders from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party have condemned this weekend's attack on former US President Donald Trump. Some have even accused the opposition of similarly 'inciting violence' against Prime Minister Modi. Over the weekend, Modi tweeted to say he was 'deeply concerned' by the attack on 'his friend' Donald Trump, adding 'violence has no place in politics'. Neha Poonia has more.

KZN MEC Thulasizwe Buthelezi Promises Aid to Farmers Affected by Devastating Wildfires

KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC, Thulasizwe Buthelezi, has assured farmers affected by the wildfires that they will get the necessary assistance. At least ten people died and areas including King Cetshwayo, Nkandla, Umlalazi, and Zululand Districts have been severely affected. The MEC’s spokesperson, Senzelwe Mzila, says farmers are estimated to have lost over one-thousand-600 animals:
