S.A’s Constitutional Court Reserves Judgment in DA Abroad’s Citizenship Challenge

  The Constitutional Court has reserved judgment in DA Abroad’s citizenship court case. The petition is challenging the South African Citizenship Act, which mandates the loss of citizenship for South Africans after acquiring another nationality without permission. The Supreme Court of Appeal had previously ruled in favour, while the Constitutional Court was meant to ratify this. The DA’s Ludré Stevens says they advocate for an automatic citizenship restoration:

Africa Collective Expands Davos 2025 Agenda with Afreximbank

Africa Collective, with support from Afreximbank and the AfCFTA Secretariat, will host expanded Africa-focused events during Davos 2025. The program, running from January 20 to 24 alongside the World Economic Forum, will include new sessions and partner spaces to promote African economic and investment priorities. Lead partners Novartis and Standard Bank, along with supporting partners Old Mutual and Ventures Platform, are backing the initiative.

Pennsylvania results not expected on election night

  Pennsylvania has been a major focus for both the Trump and Harris campaigns, as polling shows the two candidates in a dead heat to claim the state's nineteen electoral college votes. However, as was the case four years ago, if the race is as close as predicted, a winner isn't expected to be declared on election night. Ira Spitzer reports from Philadelphia.
