UN forced to temporarily halt aid deliveries in Gaza

A Senior United Nation official says it has been forced to pause its humanitarian aid deliveries in Gaza. Gaza ceasefire deal still in doubt

A deal to end the fighting in Gaza is on the brink of collapse, after America's top diplomat left the Middle East with no truce in place. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's ninth visit to the region since the start of the war came amid days of negotiations to secure a ceasefire, but his trip ended without the agreement he craves. Guterres appeals for a pause in fighting in Gaza so that children can be vaccinated against polio

The United Nations Secretary General has added his voice calling for a pause in hostilities in Gaza so that polio vaccines can be distributed. Speaking in New York on Friday, Antonio Guterres called for warring parties to lay down their arms so that humanitarians can safely vaccinate more than half a million children against polio. Jody Jacobs reports from the United Nations in New York.

Unicef says more children will die in Gaza if polio vaccines are not delivered

The United Nations Children's Fund, Unicef says if polio vaccines don't get distributed immediately, children in Gaza will die. 1.2 million doses of the vaccine have been approved by the World Health Organisation following the discovery of poliovirus type 2 in July by the Global Polio Laboratory Network in sewage samples collected in Gaza.
