President meets with the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy’s staff team

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Monday met with the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy's staff team. This follows her executive decision to remove Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Natangwe Ithete, from his post.  State House press secretary Jonas Mbambo says new appointments will be communicated in due course, but for now, the president is in charge. Namibia makes progress on FATF Grey List

The Financial Intelligence Centre says Namibia is on track to exit the FATF grey list by May 2026, after addressing most of the weaknesses in its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing systems. The FATF this week adopted Namibia’s third Progress Report in Paris, commending the country’s progress under the leadership of the Cabinet. President relieves Minister of his duties

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has relieved Natangwe Ithete of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, with immediate effect. In the interest of continuity, the President will temporarily assume responsibility for the ministry. The Presidency thanked Ithete for his service, confirming that he will remain a Member of Parliament, and reaffirmed its commitment to good governance and accountability.
