India and Canada have expelled each other's six diplomats as ties worsen over the murder of a Sikh leader in Canada last year. It comes after Canada said it asked the Indian government to waive the diplomatic immunity of some officials who have been named as persons of interest in the murder investigation.

New York Mayor charged with taking bribes

Prosecutors have charged New York City Mayor Eric Adams with five counts of criminal offences, including bribery, wire fraud and soliciting illegal foreign campaign donations. According to the BBC, the indictment unveiled on Thursday alleges Adams sought and accepted illegal campaign funds and over $100,000 (£75,000) in luxury travel benefits from Turkish businessmen and an official seeking to gain his influence.
