Namibia to Charge Visa Fee for 33 Countries Starting April 2025

As of April 1st next year, citizens from 33 countries, including Belgium, Brazil, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, and Russia, will be required to pay N$1,600 for a visa application upon arrival in Namibia. The Namibian government has decided to implement this new regulation for visas on arrival, specifically targeting countries that have not reciprocated Namibia’s visa exemption for certain countries. Japan completes 7th round of nuclear waste discharge

Japan has completed a seventh round of treated, nuclear water discharge from the crippled power plant at Fukushima. It began slowly releasing more than a million tonnes of water used to cool fuel inside the wrecked nuclear reactors in August last year. Chris Gilbert reports.

Japan is set to announce a new development package for Pacific Island nations to further counter the influence of China in the region at a Tokyo summit this week. The PALM 10 meeting between Japan and members of Pacific Island Forum begins on Tuesday and is expected to oppose any change to the international order by unilateral force.
