Report on criminal case says there was enough evidence to convict Donald Trump

A report has been released detailing the Justice Department's case against U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Former Special Prosecutor Jack Smith had prepared a four-count indictment accusing Mr Trump of plotting to obstruct the collection and certification of votes in 2020 – which had to be dropped as he is about to be president again.   US President-elect Donald Trump looks set to escape trial for his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election result after investigators filed a motion to drop the case. Special counsel Jack Smith on Monday moved to dismiss the charges against the former President due to a long-standing Justice Department policy that bars the prosecution of a sitting President. US attorney general, Merrick Garland, says Russian President Vladamir Putin's inner circle directed companies to promote disinformation as part of a programme to influence the presidential election. The Justice Department has filed charges against two Moscow-based managers of state broadcaster RT, for allegedly paying content creators in America to pump pro-Russia propaganda and disinformation to US audiences.
