Troops deployed in Kathmandu after violent protests

Armed soldiers took control of Kathmandu on Wednesday (Photo: Euronews.com) Troops have been deployed in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, following violent demonstrations on Tuesday that saw protestors set government buildings on fire. The unrest has forced several politicians to go into hiding amid escalating tensions. Authorities say the deployment will restore order and protect public property, while calling on citizens to remain calm.
