    Nearly four years after the national carrier, Air Namibia, ceased operations, former employees are intensifying their call for the payment of severance and retrenchment packages. SA’s former Public Protector wants her pension and benefits

South Africa’s former Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane says she is awaiting communication from parliament over her loss of benefits after being fired. Mkhwebane told Newzroom Africa that she would approach the courts if those engagements fail. She is taking Parliament and her former office – the Public Protector of SA – to court for having forfeited her gratuity payment, believed to be R10 million.

Isabel dos Santos loses legal battle as court freezes assets

Billionaire Isabel dos Santos, the daughter of former Angolan president Jose Eduardo dos Santos, on Wednesday lost her fight against an application to freeze up to $735 million of her assets. The AFP news agency reports that Dos Santos was sued by Unitel, a telecoms operator in Angola. The company had asked London's High Court to grant a worldwide freezing order over the assets at a hearing last month.
