Good Samaritan Falls in Love with Abandoned Baby Rescued from Desert

Meruune Tutjavi, a petrol attendant in Walvis Bay, has expressed his affection for a 16-month-old baby he rescued from the desert. Tutjavi stumbled upon the abandoned child while feeling unwell and discovered her in a blanket in the dunes. Despite initial communication challenges with the police, Tutjavi stayed with the baby until help arrived. He has since developed a bond with the infant and expressed his love for her.

According to Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya, Monare is undergoing a routine vetting process, which is standard for all SABC executives. He says Monare's vetting stalled when he declined to undergo a polygraph test, which is part of the process:
