eThekwini Mayor Vows Legal Action Against Striking Municipal Employees

Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda of eThekwini in South Africa asserts that all lawful measures will be pursued to compel employees participating in an illegal strike to return to work or potentially face dismissal. The municipality has secured an urgent Labour Court interdict against the striking workers affiliated with the South African Municipal Workers Union. According to the municipality's spokesperson, Gugu Sisilana, 20 of the striking workers have already been suspended.
