Malawi Orders Troop Withdrawal from DRC

Malawi's President Lazarus Chakwera has instructed the country's defense forces to start preparations for the withdrawal of its troops from eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, according to a statement issued on Wednesday in Reuters' reports.The Malawian troops are part of a Southern African regional bloc mission aimed at assisting the DRC in combating armed insurgents. The military mission was extended late last year by the regional bloc.
