UN Security Council Resolution on Gaza Welcomed by South Africa’s Minister

South Africa's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Naledi Pandor, has praised the recent UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan. The resolution also urges the release of hostages and increased aid flow. While fourteen members voted in favor, the US abstained. Pandor reiterated South Africa's longstanding support for a Gaza ceasefire.

Emphasizing the importance of inclusive dialogue and peaceful political settlements, she expressed deep concern over the lack of respect for life and livelihood observed in Gaza since the seventh of October attack.
