Otjiwarongo Municipality Hit by Ransomware Attack Linked to “INC Ransom”

  A cybersecurity breach involving the Otjiwarongo Municipality has been identified by the national cyber response team under the Communications Regulatory Authority. According to spokesperson Mufaro Nesongano, the threat was detected yesterday via trusted cyber intelligence sources. Preliminary evidence suggests data exfiltration and a ransom demand from a group calling itself “INC Ransom.”

City of Windhoek Sends Biggest Arrears to Collector

Windhoek’s city council has handed over N$409.9 million of its unpaid debt to external debt collector RedForce, spokesperson Lydia Amutenya confirmed to NewsOnOne’s Josia Shigwedha. This is representative of the largest slice of the total N$944 million owed to the city as of May by normal clients, businesses, pensioners, and government institutions with overdue accounts older than three months.
