Agriculture Ministry to Cancel Unused Stock Brands

The Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform ministry through the Namibia Livestock Identification and Traceability System, has issued a notice that all unused stock brands will be cancelled by April 30. Farmers must verify and update their registrations before the deadline. Simon Nghipandulwa is the Ministry’s spokesperson.

Illegal Fishing: 10 Caught in Restricted Area in Terrace Bay

The Fisheries ministry has confirmed that 10 fishermen were caught illegally fishing in a restricted area at Terrace Bay. Among them, two are Namibians, while the rest are South African nationals. The group had already caught 18 cod before being fined a total of N$63,000. We asked Hafeni Mungungu, the Director Responsible for Monitoring, Control, and Surveillance, whether illegal fishing is prevalent in Namibia.
