NamRa collects N$21.4 billion in Q2 revenue

The Namibia Revenue Agency has collected N$21.4 billion in revenue during the quarter ending 30 June 2024, representing 25.1% of the N$85.3 billion annual revenue target. NamRA's Commissioner and CEO, Sam Shivute, said that domestic taxes were the main contributor, generating N$13.5 billion or 63% of the total revenue. According to The Brief, the remaining N$7.9 billion was derived from customs and excise duties, primarily through SACU receipts.

Revenue Agency Recovers N$20 Million from Fishing Companies

The Namibia Revenue Agency has recovered N$20 million from 14 fishing companies between May 1 and July 19. This was achieved through administrative summons and collaboration with third parties, including commercial banks, to address outstanding tax liabilities. The recovery efforts are part of NamRA's intensified campaign against deliberate tax evasion in the fishing industry. Namra spokesperson, Steven Ndorokaze.

NamRa extends deadline for tax certificates to April 2025

The Namibia Revenue Agency has extended the transitional arrangements for obtaining Tax Certificates of Good Standing. This means businesses will have more time to comply with the recently revised guidelines. Originally scheduled to come into effect on 1 June 2024 the new guidelines will now be implemented on 1 April 2025. NamRA and Bipa sign MoU

The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) signed a memorandum of agreement with the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA), which is aimed at, among other things, enhancing cooperation in terms of the sharing of information on the registration and maintenance of business entities and Intellectual Property Rights in Namibia. NamRa conducts study at Trans Kalahari Border Post

The Namibia Revenue Agency will undertake the second Time Release Study from 15 to 25 January 2024 at the Trans Kalahari Border Post. The study has been developed by the World Customs Organisation to measure the actual time required for the release and clearance of goods, from the time of arrival until the physical release of cargo.
