Schools honor late President Geingob with memorial service

Executive director of the Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, has instructed all schools and institutions under the ministry to have a memorial service for the late President Hage Geingob on Monday. President Geingob's state funeral is scheduled for Sunday, February 25th.

President Mbumba declares national mourning period

President Nangolo Mbumba has officially declared a national mourning period starting from 5 February 2023 until the date of the late President Hage Geingob's funeral. The Namibia Press Agency reports that all national flags should be flown at half-mast throughout this period, across the country, and at all Namibian diplomatic missions. The date of the burial is yet to be announced.
