More than 10 thousand aid trucks have entered Gaza since ceasefire

The United Nations says it has reached a major milestone in humanitarian aid deliveries into Gaza. Tom Fletcher, the UN's head of humanitarian affairs on Thursday said 10 thousand trucks have entered the enclave since the ceasefire began on 19 January. Our correspondent is Jody Jacobs, from the United Nations in New York.

Guterres warns Donald Trump against ethnic cleansing in Gaza

Antonio Guterres has warned against any form of "ethnic cleansing" in Gaza. The United Nations Secretary General was responding to US President Donald Trump's comments that the US take ownership of the Gaza strip and resettle Palestinians living there. Palestinian UN ambassador says the Gaza Strip is “our home”

The Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour has responded to US President Donald Trump's assertion that the US would take over the Gaza Strip and that Palestinians will be resettled elsewhere. Speaking in New York shortly after the claim was made by Trump, Mansour said the Gaza strip is the home of the Palestinian people and leaders should respect that.

UN warns of a health emergency in the DRC

  United Nations humanitarian agencies are warning of a region-wide health emergency following the outbreak of fighting in the city of Goma in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. While UN agencies report "relative calm" on Wednesday, they say rebel M23 fighters are still in control of "a significant portion of the city". Israel insists laws to prevent UNRWA from operating will go ahead

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations insists that laws to prohibit UNRWA from operating in Israel will come into effect in 48 hours. Danny Danon told a UN Security Council meeting on Friday that his country's plans to go ahead with its decision despite opposition from the world body and other member states. UN Security Council pledges full support to peacekeepers in the DRC

  The United Nations Security Council on Monday pledged its full support for UN peacekeeping in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as fighting in the DRC intensified in recent days. In a statement, the council says attacks against peacekeepers may constitute war crimes. Six UN peacekeepers have been killed since the fighting with M23 rebels escalated. Jody Jacobs has more from the United Nations in New York.
