United Healthcare CEO shot and killed in New York

The CEO of the largest private health insurer in the U.S., Brian Thompson has been shot and killed outside his New York hotel. The incident occurred outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown, where he was due to attend United Healthcare's investor conference. Jody Jacobs is our reporter. Meanwhile, the New York Police Department just announced that the killing of UnitedHealthcare's CEO was a "preplanned, targeted attack".

NYC Mayor defends police actions at migrant centre

The mayor of New York City has defended the city's police officers after video emerged of them using a stun gun at a migrant shelter. The New York Police Department came under fire in recent days for their alleged treatment of a man holding a child. Mayor Eric Adams described the officers' actions as "appropriate."
