UNSC holds briefing following North Korea missile launches

United Nations officials have called on North Korea to comply with international law after it launched ballistic missiles over the weekend. At a briefing on Tuesday, members of the UN Security Council urged Pyongyang to commit to denuclearization. But Russia and China criticised their fellow members for being 'one-sided'. North Korea launches first military spy satellite

North Korea has successfully launched its first military spy satellite into space from the Sohae Satellite Launching Station. North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un oversaw the launch, claiming that the Malligyong-1 military reconnaissance satellite is now in orbit.  The development raises concerns as it could provide North Korea with an unprecedented ability to monitor the military activities of the United States and South Korea.

North Korea criticizes US arms sale to Japan, S Korea
