Relief Efforts Underway for Flood Victims in Otjomuise

The Office of the Prime Minister, in partnership with the City of Windhoek's Disaster Risk Management Team, has delivered food parcels to more than 280 households in 8de Laan, Otjomuise, following Saturday's heavy flooding. The team is also supplying tents and arranging for the relocation of affected residents to a safer area in Goreangab, designated by the City of Windhoek. Namibia Media Professionals Union condemns journalist’s assault

The Namibia Media Professionals Union has condemned the alleged assault, on the 2nd of April 2024, of a female journalist by a male editor of a prominent newspaper. Amushelelo accuses NamPol of rights violation

Economic activist Michael Amushelelo has accused the Namibian Police of undermining the Fundamental Freedoms of the Namibian Constitution. He claims that many Namibians who wanted to register for the 'Occupation of Vacant Houses' in Otjomuise refrained from doing so due to police harassment and intimidation. Amushelelo alleges that the police presence included approximately 100 vehicles and drones.
