Last night, S.A President Cyril Ramaphosa officiated the transfer ceremony for the remains of 14 South African National Defence Force soldiers who lost their lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo while on a peacekeeping mission. The ceremony took place at Air Force Base Swartkops in Pretoria, where Ramaphosa, alongside Defence minister Angie Motshekga and SANDF Chief Rudzani Maphwanya, honoured the fallen troops.

  AfriForum and Solidarity have dismissed Cosatu's claims that apartheid flags were displayed at the BELA protest in Pretoria. AfriForum's Kallie Kriel says the accusations are false and malicious. Adding that with over ten-thousand attendees protesting the Basic Education Laws Amendment Act, organisers noted one individual with a Vierkleur flag, who was quickly escorted off-site. SA’s government denies Chinese pressure on Taiwan office relocation in Pretoria

South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation has denied claims that the government has been pressured by China to order the relocation of Taiwan’s office from Pretoria to Johannesburg. Taiwan’s Foreign minister, Lin Chia-lung, has accused South Africa of violating a 1997 agreement between the two countries. Dirco’s spokesperson, Chrispin Phiri, spoke to Newzroom Afrika.
