COBRA meeting called over United Kingdom riots and injuries

The UK government is holding an emergency 'COBRA' meeting on Monday after a weekend of rioting. There were violent scenes in towns and cities which saw over 150 people arrested and police officers injured. The UK's Home Office has also offered greater protections for mosques after some were attacked during weekend unrest. Middlesbrough MP Andy McDonald says his city needs to rebuild after violent clashes.

Road accident deaths decrease by 30% in 4 years

Minister of Works and Transport, John Mutorwa, has announced that the number of traffic fatalities decreased by 30% between 2019 and 2023. NamPol launches search for fugitive prisoners in Zambezi region

Police have launched a massive manhunt for 11 prisoners who escaped from a police holding cell in the north-eastern Zambezi region. The trial-awaiting escapees cut through the roof of the Katima Mulilo police station before escaping. Locals have been warned to be vigilant as the prisoners were awaiting trial for serious crimes.
