Fourteen people die in a collision in the Eastern Cape

Fourteen people have died in a collision on the N9, 30 kilometers from Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape. A minibus and an SUV collided in the early hours of yesterday morning. Emergency services were on the scene, but the number of injured remains unconfirmed. Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson, Makhaya Komisa has urged motorists to exercise caution in the area:

Ten Bodies Recovered After Fuel Tanker Explosion in Kampala

A fuel tanker explosion in Kampala, Uganda, resulted in the recovery of ten bodies, according to a Reuters witness. The tanker overturned around 3:00 PM local time in the Kigoogwa suburb, located on the northern outskirts of the city along the road connecting Kampala to Gulu. Police confirmed that several individuals may have lost their lives, and others sustained injuries in the incident.

MVA Fund records youth account for 55% of road accident injuries

The Motor Vehicle Accident Fund has revealed that young people aged 18 to 35 were disproportionately affected by motor vehicle accidents, constituting 55% of total injuries recorded during the first nine months of 2024. The Namibia Police Force has responded to complaints regarding alleged discrimination by traffic law enforcement officers against operators of seven-seater vehicles.
