The Education, Arts and Culture ministry has confirmed that all schools will be closed on tomorrow. The 28 February closure is to allow students to take part in the memorial service honoring Founding President, Sam Nujoma. Executive Director Sanet Steenkamp shared the update.

The body of O'Linn Nauyoma, a learner from Etosha Secondary School, has been recovered after he drowned in Lake Guinas during a school trip on 8 September 2024. The Education ministry has secured a N$3.4 million donation from MTC Namibia, which includes eight classrooms, a computer lab, and a storeroom for Tsumeb Primary School. This donation is part of the Rural Schools Project, in collaboration with the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund, aimed at improving educational facilities in rural Namibia. Today, Education Arts and Culture ministry will unveil a statue of Chairman Mao Zhedong at Otjomuise in Windhoek. This initiative, led by Dr. Elia Kaiyamo, Namibia's Ambassador to China, commemorates the longstanding relationship between Namibia and China.
