In S.A, the IFP has called for urgent action to help more South Africans own spaza shops to ensure compliance with safety standards and boost local business ownership. Party leader Velenkosini Hlabisa has raised concerns following a rise in food poisoning cases in Gauteng, allegedly linked to expired products sold in spaza shops. According to Hlabisa, many undocumented foreigners are running businesses without complying with regulations:
