Police at the scene suspect that the man was electrocuted while attempting to commit suicide. The City of Windhoek Emergency Services officials removed the body from the power line.

16-year-old commits suicide at Katima Mulilo

A 16-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at the Mafuta Mafuta compound in the Zambezi Region on Tuesday. This was confirmed by the Namibian Police Force’s Zambezi spokesperson, Inspector Kisco Sitali, who said the deceased allegedly hanged himself with a rope in the house. Police report three suicides involving men over the weekend

A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide at Omungwelume village in the Engela Constituency on Friday. His body was found hanging inside a building with a rope around the neck, the Namibian Police Force said in a crime report issued on Sunday. The deceased allegedly also attempted to hang himself two months ago. The motive behind his action is unknown. No suicide note was left behind and investigations are ongoing.
