Bullying in Schools Raises Alarm

Bullying in schools is increasingly worrying experts, who say it undermines learners’ academic performance, mental health, and self-esteem, and can even lead to suicide. The issue has gained attention after a 2024 video showed a learner assaulting others in a hostel. Deputy Minister of Education Dino Ballotti added his comment on the matter:

NamPol Reports Epako Suicide and Otavi Illicit Goods Seizure

  On Friday, in Gobabis at Kanaan B location, a tragic incident occurred where 36-year-old Tjipekapora Nguvauva reportedly took his own life. No suicide note was found, and police investigations are ongoing. Later that morning in Otavi, a 35-year-old man was apprehended for possessing 50 packs of illicit cigarettes valued at N$10,000. He is expected to appear in court on today.
