NamRA Warns Importers Over Unpaid VAT

The Namibia Revenue Agency has cautioned that importers who fail to settle outstanding deferred VAT balances may have their accounts suspended. NamRA’s Tonateni Shidhudhu, manager of strategic communications and stakeholder engagements, said affected importers must pay VAT upfront at customs and clear any arrears to avoid disruptions.

Namra Pays N$75.1 Million in Tax Refunds

  The Namibia Revenue Agency recently disbursed N$75.1 million in tax refunds to over 50,000 taxpayers, with individual refunds ranging from N$100 to N$3,000. Namra spokesperson Tonateni Shidhudhu confirmed a third batch of refunds, between N$101 and N$100,000, is set for release prior to the end of this month.

NamRa conducts study at Trans Kalahari Border Post

The Namibia Revenue Agency will undertake the second Time Release Study from 15 to 25 January 2024 at the Trans Kalahari Border Post. The study has been developed by the World Customs Organisation to measure the actual time required for the release and clearance of goods, from the time of arrival until the physical release of cargo. NamRa’s Tonateni Shidhudhu explains.
