India-EU to talk trade, investment and defense during VDL-Modi meet

India and the European Union say they're eager to mark a new phase in bilateral relations ahead of talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen will discuss a free trade agreement and possibly defence and investment deals with Indian officials as China and US tariffs loom large on both Indian and European economies.
