Tropical storm Maria

Tropical Storm Maria that lashed parts of Japan with historic levels of rain has been downgraded to a depression. But officials warn that heavy rains and flood risks could linger. Here's our East Asia correspondent William Denselow.  

Tropical Storm Maria has made landfall in northern Japan dumping a month's worth of rain on the region. Officials say it's just the third such storm to hit this part of the country's Pacific coast since records began. East Asia correspondent William Denselow reports.
