Blinken Urges Action to Address Sudan Conflict

  U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken delivered a direct appeal to nations aiding Sudan's warring factions or benefiting from the conflict. Reuters says that he called on them to shift their focus toward alleviating Sudanese suffering and using their influence to bring the war to an end. Addressing the United Nations Security Council, Blinken emphasized the need for concrete action to demonstrate genuine concern for Sudan's future.

“Time is now” for Gaza ceasefire deal, says top US diplomat

"The time is now" for a deal between Israel and Hamas, according to U.S Secretary of State, Antony Blinken. America's top diplomat is finishing yet another Middle East tour aimed at agreeing a ceasefire in Gaza. Secretary Blinken says "there is a proposal on the table" which would bring about a truce in return for the release of remaining Israeli hostages still held in the war-torn territory. Blinken in Shanghai as he kicks off China trip

U.S Secretary of State, Antony Blinken is in talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on Friday to discuss a range of complex issues, including deepening strains over China's backing of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Blinken is likely to meet Chinese President Xi Xinping on Friday before he returns to Washington, although neither side has yet confirmed a meeting. Laura Westbrook reports from Hong Kong.

Israel’s defence force strikes Lebanon

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken continues his Middle East tour on Monday, meeting with Arab leaders before heading for Tel Aviv. It comes as the IDF says it carried out strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon overnight, reportedly killing a senior commander. Trent Murray reports from Tel Aviv that the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains challenging.
