UN halts World Food Programme conveys in Gaza

The World Food Programme has paused the movements of its employees in Gaza until further notice. This after a WFP team came under fire on Tuesday night a few metres from an Israeli checkpoint at the Wadi Gaza bridge. UN Allocates N$53.3 Million to Support Namibians Affected by Severe Drought

The United Nations has allocated N$53.3 million (roughly US$3 million) from the Central Emergency Response Fund to assist over 163,000 Namibians hit by the worst drought in a century. UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric reported that the drought has depleted 84% of Namibia’s food reserves, with nearly half of the population facing severe food insecurity from July to September. More calls for a Gaza ceasefire at Thursday’s UN Security Council

United Nations humanitarians reiterated their calls for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza. International NGO, Save the Children's representative told a special UN Security Council meeting on Thursday that the polio outbreak in Gaza is going to have devastating consequences for the children there, if something is not done soon.
