The United Nations General Assembly has overwhelmingly voted in favour of a ceasefire in Gaza. While this vote is not legally binding, it's a strong political signal. The United States has once again voted against the ceasefire. Our correspondent from where the UN is headquartred is Jody Jacobs in New York:

The United Nations Security Council heard on Monday, how there are no longer any words to describe the situation in Gaza. United Nations humanitarians briefed the council at a special meeting on the situation in Rafah and say it's now beyond a catastrophe. Jody Jacobs reports from New York.
