UN General Assembly votes in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza

    The United Nations General Assembly has overwhelmingly voted in favour of a ceasefire in Gaza. While this vote is not legally binding, it's a strong political signal. The United States has once again voted against the ceasefire. Our correspondent from where the UN is headquartred is Jody Jacobs in New York:

U.N officials express shock at the death of Iran’s President

Condolences have been pouring in at the United Nations following the death of Iran's president and Foreign Minister. UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres says he is saddened by the death of Ebrahim Raisi. Security Council members observed a moment of silence before the start of its work on Monday.
