African member states demand two permanent seats on UN Security Council

African member states at the United Nations are demanding two permanent seats on the UN Security Council with the veto abolished. A United Nations Security Council meeting took place on Monday with the aim of redressing the historical injustice and enhancing Africa's effective representation on the Council. UN officially adds Israel and Hamas to its blacklist of countries violating children rights

The United Nations has officially released its annual report on Children and Armed Conflict. The report which has sparked much controversy found that violence against children caught in armed conflict reached "extreme levels" last year. UN Security Council Set to Vote on Resolution Against Siege in Sudan’s al-Fashir

Diplomats indicated on Wednesday that the United Nations Security Council is expected to vote on Thursday on a resolution drafted by Britain.
