The year-end package — the last major legislation Congress will clear this year — includes a bill to restrict American investment in China, and more than $100 billion in emergency aid for natural disasters. US lawmakers to vote on bill banning non-citizens casting ballot

US lawmakers on Wednesday are voting on a bill banning non-citizens from taking part in federal elections - something which is already illegal. The SAVE Act would mandate voters to prove their citizenship in order to cast their ballot. Democrats call the measure unnecessary and designed to sow distrust among voters. U.S Lawmakers visit Taiwan after Chinese drills

A delegation of US lawmakers are visiting Taiwan this week, after China ended its biggest military exercise in a year around the island. The delegation, led by chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael McCaul, is the first congressional group to visit Taiwan since the inauguration of president William Lai Ching-te. US Senate to vote on foreign aid bill amid gridlock

Lawmakers in the United States Senate are planning to vote on a funding bill that would send billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine and Israel. The bill would provide military, security and humanitarian assistance for the war-torn nations, but it doesn't include US border security measures that were part of a wider package struck down earlier in the week.
