US GDP grows but voters remain dissatisfied at economy

The US economy grew 4.9% last quarter, new figures show — that's lower than recent estimates, but still the fastest pace of expansion since the fourth quarter of 2021. The Bureau of Economic Analysis said the rise "reflected increases in consumer and government spending." From Washington, Benji Hyer reports.

Counter-terrorism alert issued after bridge explosion on Canada-US border

A vehicle has exploded at a toll booth on the Rainbow Bridge that connects Canada with the United States near Niagra Falls. All four crossings between the two countries in the area have now been closed. The FBI is describing the situation at the border crossing as "very fluid" as investigations into the explosion get underway. Our US correspondent Simon Marks reports.

US officials say Gaza hostage deal is closer than any point before

A US official said a deal to release hostages held in Gaza is 'closer than at any point' since negotiations began. Deputy national security adviser Jon Finer told media on Sunday areas of disagreement have narrowed between Israel and Hamas.
