US National Security Advisor defends shutting USAID

US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has defended President Donald Trump's decision to shutter the US Agency for International Development. The Trump administration announced a funding freeze for the agency but has so far been blocked by a judge from putting thousands of its employees on unpaid administrative leave. Waltz told NBC that USAID spends money that does not strategically support America's interests.

Donald Trump says he'll announce a new 25% tariff on steel and aluminium imports on Monday. It comes as the US president ramps up his threats to impose duties on multiple countries as a way to reduce the US trade deficit. Nick Harper reports from Washington.
