The World Food Programme warns that children are starving in Gaza as they are not able to get sufficient aid into Gaza. Briefing correspondents in New York on Friday, the organisation's director in Palestine painted a grim picture of the situation describing it as "apocalyptic". The UN World Food Program is warning Gaza may be on the "brink of famine". The WFP's Executive Director Cindy McCain confirmed that the UN has managed to feed more than 110,000 people in Gaza since the pause in the fighting. But she warned that much more help was still needed. Speaking to CBS McCain also said other countries needed to help support the agency's efforts.
