Richelieu Eagles off to a flyer

In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Region Qualifier tournament, which kicked off the Windhoek yesterday, Kenya won the first match against Rwanda by 17 runs. Kenya batted first and posted 154/2 in their allotted 20 overs. Rwanda only managed to score  137/4 in twenty overs, giving victory to Kenya by 17 runs. Irfan Karim of Kenya was player of the match for 63 not out from 43 deliveries and two catches. In the second game of the day, Tanzania posted 99/7 in their 20 0vers. Uganda replied with 105/2 in 15.2 overs, for victory by 8 wickets. Player of the match was Riazat Ali Shah of Uganda for 47* from 27 deliveries and 2 wickets for 14 runs. In the final match of the day, the Richelieu Eagles got their tournament off to a flyer with a comprehensive victory over the Zimbabwe Chevrons. Tight bowling by the Eagles restricted Zimbabwe to 132/8. The Namibians then shredded the Chevrons; bowling attack, with Niko Davin scoring a player-of-the-match worthy 80 off just 45. The Richelieu Eagles reached 134/4 inside 15 overs for a quick victory which will also do wonders for their net run rate should that come into play.
