Floyd Brink’s leave to appeal the judgment on his appointment as Joburg city manager is dismissed

Former Johannesburg city manager Floyd Brink’s bid to appeal the Gauteng High Court’s ruling, declaring his appointment unconstitutional, has been dismissed. The DA contested Brink’s appointment, filing an urgent application for review. Acting High Court Judge Steven Budlender recently deemed the appointment procedurally flawed, unlawful, and invalid. The city, however, alleges nefarious political interferences behind Brink’s removal. In addition, the city states that the consistent political onslaught and attempts to derail the city’s ability to deliver services and improve governance, is unacceptable.
