No-one was injured yesterday in an explosion of a tanker carrying diesel on the N3 freeway in Durban. The driver pulled over and fled when the vehicle caugt fire, and thick plumes of smoke billowed from the tanker before it exploded. One side of the dual carriageway was affected, but was re-opened a few hours later. Sindi KaNgidi Msimang of the Road Traffic Information Centre says the cause of the incident will be investigated. She warned commuters to be careful in the area.
