AfriForum is going to appeal the ruling on the validity period of driver’s licence cards

SA’s AfriForum has applied for leave to appeal in the High Court in Pretoria against the ruling that the validity period of driver’s licence cards should not be revised. The civil rights organisation’s initial review application was dismissed in October. AfriForum’s Louis Boshoff says they have received several complaints from individuals who did not receive their renewed driver’s licence cards from the Department of Transport on time. He says this has resulted in them being fined despite every effort to remain legally licensed.
