The Opuwo Town Council on Tuesday re-elected its councillors in their various positions.
In an election held at the town council chambers, Rosa Mbinge-Tjeundo, a Popular Democratic Movement councillor, retained her mayoral position after accepting an unopposed nomination from fellow party member Kaare Lucuis Mupya. Kasipo Kakondo, a PDM councillor, will deputise Mbinge-Tjeundo. Mupya was re-elected as the management committee’s chairperson, while PDM’s Forester Matjiru Tjijahura and Swapo veteran Wilhelmine Nashihua were both re-elected as additional members of the management committee.
