The DA in South Africa has criticized the ANC for allegedly neglecting parliamentary oversight during the Covid-19 pandemic. DA chief whip Siviwe Gwarube accused president Cyril Ramaphosa and his cabinet of exploiting the national lockdown for political advantage. Gwarube contended that the ANC imposed irrational restrictions, and she highlighted concerns about corruption in the handling of personal protective equipment. Speaking to the media on holding the executive and the ANC in Parliament accountable, Gwarube underscored the importance of maintaining parliamentary scrutiny.
