The City of Johannesburg urges residents, visitors, and businesses to stay vigilant for the upcoming long weekend and festive season. With schools closed and businesses shutting down tomorrow, increased travel is expected. Mayoral committee member for Public Safety, Mgcini Tshwaku, warns against carrying large sums of money, drinking, and driving, and unruly behaviour. The city’s Virgil James says police visibility will be heightened as part of the safer festive season campaign, to address criminal activities, violence, recklessness, and road infringements.
